This newest series is inspired by the black and white photographs from the turn of the Twentieth Century German photographer, Karl Blossfeldt. In his book “Urformen der Kunst”, Blossfeldt photographed nature in extreme close up. Each of these sculptures that I’ve created was inspired by not only a Blossfeldt photograph but also an investigation of plants found within my own garden. I see this whole series as an extension of both my “Power Stick” and “Voynich” inspired series. Having created these previous series freed me up to create these sculptures below.
